What is URBANworks?
Next pageAt the local level, sustainable development requires understanding, resources, skills, cross-sectoral cooperation, political commitment and most of all - an organisational structure to systematically coordinate the efforts. This interactive toolkit - URBANworks - covers all of these aspects.
The toolkit provides city administrators working with complex sustainability issues with guidance, tools and concrete examples of other cities to support them in effectively tackling their challenges. The focus is on the development of a cross-sectoral organisational unit for their city to ensure that city development is in balance in terms of economic, environmental and social aspects.
How is it organised?
URBANworks is divided into two sections which are accessible from the side bar after the main menu:
- Interactive Guide
- Resources section - which includes a document to help you draft the plan for your organisational unit (Managing sustainability- An organisational framework) and a number of actual development plans drafted by cities around the Baltic Sea Region.
